The new e-book of Circular Walks On The Tuscany Umbria Border contains 20 walks of varying length and difficulty.
All have been carefully planned to take in points of interest and magnificent views. The walks have been researched by Martin and updated in 2011 ready for this 2012 edition. The 2012 edition contains several new walks not included in the print editions and several of the walks from the printed books have been left out. Martin has lived and walked on the Tuscany Umbria border since 1999 and, thanks to his knowledge and long experience of walking here, this book contains some of the finest walking routes in the area.
The walks are are located in an area between Cortona, Lake Trasimeno, Perugia, Gubbio and Cittą di Castello. This area has a lot to offer the walker; beautiful landscapes of wooded hillsides are dotted with olive groves, vineyards, castles, hill towns, churches and farmhouses (both ruined and restored). During the walks you will come across Etruscan tombs and temple sites, Roman roads and even prehistoric remains. From panoramic ridges, views stretch across to the Appenine peaks and often, Lake Trasimeno, Italy's fourth largest lake, forms a backdrop to the scenery.
The walks have detailed instructions, walking times, distances and GPS co-ordinates. With its up to date routes and precise instructions, you are unlikely to get lost. With the exception of one walk between train stations, the circular routes mean that you don't have to rely on infrequent public transport to get back at the end of the day. This is the essential walking guide for the visitor to the Tuscany Umbria border and northern Umbria.
