The day starts in Monterchi with a visit to see Piero della Francesco's Madonna del Parto (Madonna in Labour).

After a climbing through chestnuts woods there are incredible views on the ridges near the top of Monte Pagliaiolo.

Picnic lunch en route.

The ruined church at Marzano.

On the way back we visit the hilltop village of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina for a drink with a view.
